Mountain Water Decaffeination takes place in Mexico, utilizing water from the Pico de Orizaba Mountain, the country's highest peak.

How is the coffee decaffeinated? 

◆ Green beans are steamed to expand the coffee's pores, making the caffeine easily extractable.

◆ The beans are soaked in clear water from the Pico de Orizaba Mountain, which, over time, removes the caffeine while leaving the original flavour intact.

◆ The water absorbs the soluble-flavour molecules and the caffeine from the green beans.

◆ Lastly, the water is removed to a separate tank and passes through a filtration system, which will trap and remove the caffeine. Finally, the coffee is now 99.99 caffeine-free.
